Student Publications

State of the Arts, LaGuardia Arts' newspaper, is published four to six times a year by LaGuardia Arts students. Contributions include artwork, photographs, and articles. The editorial staff comprises students in the Journalism class or with former experience on the school newspaper who assign, edit, select, and lay out pieces for publication. The Journalism class, a class offered by the English Department, trains seniors for news writing. Articles written for the class are considered for publication. State of the Arts holds weekly meetings for all interested students after school on Thursdays in Room 661. Students do not have to be enrolled in the Journalism class to participate in State of the Arts.

The Lively Arts, LaGuardia Arts' literary magazine, is published once a year in June by the creative writing class open to juniors, but all students are invited to submit poetry, stories and artwork to the magazine office, Room 325. Click here to see a copy.

DAVID (DanceArtVocalIntrumentalDrama), the LaGuardia Arts yearbook is published in late spring. Participation is open to all seniors. Photographers, artists and writers are especially needed. The yearbook staff meets after school, and organization starts in the spring of the year prior to publication.
