LaGuardia Arts is fortunate to have some of the best
performance and exhibition spaces in New York City.
Our performance spaces are used every summer by the
Lincoln Center Festival, by the Drama Desk Awards, and
many other musical and theatrical institutions.
The La Guardia Concert Hall serves as the school auditorium
and is used for school assemblies and dress rehearsals,
which are open to all students, schedules permitting.
Evening performances open to students, their families,
friends and the entire community, are held throughout
the year. They include concerts by the LaGuardia Arts
orchestras, bands, choruses and vocal groups, as well
as performances by dance and drama students and the
Rising Stars production.
The LaGuardia Arts Theatre, located at the east side
of the lobby, is an open Greek-style Theatre used for
the Spring Drama Festival and for dance recitals.
Tickets to most events are $10.00
each. Advance Tickets may also be purchased by contacting
the A.P. of the appropriate performing Studio.
Works by faculty and professionals is featured in fall
exhibits. In the spring, there is a series of five senior
art exhibits. The Semi-Annual Art Exhibits in January
and June display the work of students from all grades
and extend onto the mezzanine. Exhibits are announced
in the school's performance calendar, News 'N' Notes,
a publication of the fine arts department, and in the
Weekly Student Calendar (the Yellow Sheet) distributed
to all students. Parents are invited to attend the opening
of each exhibit. The gallery is generally open from
9AM to 3PM during the school day and in the evenings
during major concerts and meetings of the Parents Association.
